Finished: September 2007 Archives
I have spent all week working on tweaking my new sites on the new domain. MT4 is sort of like Typepad. Only on crack. I have finally figured most of it out and am very proud of myself.
I have also finished the work on the pattern. The secret pattern that most of the southeast knew about.
Too tired to say much else.
My new blog address? SnarkyKatey.com
The design though? She is here:
Eventually the Snarky Knitters will be there too!
In the interim, here's some eye candy:

This weekend has been a recovery weekend. I was sinus girl most of last week and I decided to forgo a much anticipated birthday weekend with friends to stay home and recover. I slept most of Saturday and lived on cold meds, oj, and homemade chicken soup. By Monday, I was feeling better. I could, at least, breath through my nose. But, the self-imposed, quarantine was not a complete waste of a 3-day weekend. I got a lot done. A. LOT. I finished 3 projects. Finished, washed, blocked, seamed, the whole 9 yards.
Folks, I am happy to announce that the RED SWEATER is finished and ready for the wearing. Bring on the fall! Once I got the sleeves down, it only took a couple of days. I basted everything together just to make sure. MIRACLE OF MIRACLES! It fits. So, I washed and blocked it.
Pinned it out right on the living room floor. (I needed to sleep in my bed, the floor is the only other space I have with enough room.) Prue kept giving the sweater dirty looks. Once dry, I seamed everything properly and added the ribbed neck line.
While the sweater was pinned to the floor and drying, I decided to finish up on mom's throw. I did a log cabin blanket from Mason-Dixon Knitting. ( I love this book)
I finished the last log cabin stripe and decided that 7 on each side was enough. I scrounged around for some more leftover burgundy scraps and crocheted 2 rows around the outside to finish off the whole thing. I weaved in the ends on the back and threw the whole thing in the washer.
Sunday, I finally went out and got a bleach pen to put the stripes on the Trash Pillow from Knitty Gritty. It's made from Rowan Denim (3 colors). I pinned that out on the kitchen sink and got to bleaching.
After 90 mins, the color had lifted. I rinsed out the bleach and threw the front and back panels in with my jeans. Perfect! Monday, I made a trek up to Joann's and got the buttons and the stuffing to make the pillow. I decided to just make the pillow form, because I didn't find one that fit exactly. The problem is that I stuffed the pillow as if I were making a doll. I need to rework that. But, essentially, the pillow is done too!
I hate that I was too sick to hang with friends, I really would not have been very good company. You know, with the sleeping and sneezing and coughing and the spreading of the evil germs and all. But, I was productive, so it was not a completely wasted weekend. I also cast on a couple of new things. Big surprise there!
