Several WIPs have been completed in the last few days, so here are two of them:
Unoriginal Hat
Can't say that I'm 100% satisfied with this. For one thing, it's SO stiff that it can stand up by itself. This could be a positive in terms of warmth, as long as someone's head will fit into it. Which is the other issue: possibly because of the bulkyness of the yarn, it seems a bit small. I actually haven't woven in ends yet.....may have one or two people try it on to make sure it will work. If not I may frog it.
Oops Washcloth
This, I'm happy with. Love, love, love the colorway--can't wait to see how it works up in other projects. (It was on clearance so I bought a bunch.) Since I goofed on the original pattern, I plan to try it again, maybe with different yarn. This one goes into the gift area. The cream and teal Mason Dixon warshrag went to a friend at a dinner party, along with a cake of soap, and was very well received. So I think I'll just try to have a small stack of these ready to go as hostess gifts.
Random
OK, I just gotta say how incredibly fabulous it is to have someone in your life who is not only a good friend, but also a patient and generous resource with their time and talents. Within the span of 24 hours one particular person was able to help me with two computer-related issues, and in doing so made my life SO much easier, it's not even funny. While I'm not completely without skills when it comes to technology (heck, I managed to get TV/DVD/VCR all reconnected properly in the new armoire), I would consider myself....a neophyte pretty basic. It's amazing to me how one little detail can transform a process from incredibly frustrating failure to....SUCCESS! So when I'm spending way too long fiddling with photos for the blog b/c I don't know to resize them first in Photoshop, or pulling my hair out after hours of fighting with a m4p music file, it's wonderful to have someone graciously (and gently) point out something to remedy the problem. [Somewhat humbling when the suggestion is rather simple, but still a relief] So, to the fantabulous KateyJ.....a big THANK YOU!!!
Job Update
Just when I was about to give up hope, the phone rang. Hallelujah! Since my second interview with Seems-Like-A-Great-Opportunity company was last Monday, and the boss/interviewer said he would call ASAP to set up a third interview, I was starting to get worried. The last person I need to meet with will be in town next week, so I'll be sitting down with her Tuesday morning at 9:00 am. YEAH!! Since that's about the time I'm waking up these days, guess I better start cranking back the alarm time so I won't be comatose, huh?
